Maria Febre is the Director for Global Diversity & Inclusion at Gap Inc. and is responsible for advancing the organization’s D&I global enterprise strategy and driving organizational performance through diversity. Her work to champion diversity resulted in our CEO’s commitment to take the CEO Pledge for Diversity and Inclusion. With this commitment, Maria has led the implementation of unconscious bias training across the enterprise, continues to create a platform to have tough conversations around diversity, and stays connected with best practices across multiple industries. She is a member of the California and Bay Area Diversity Council, contributed to the Stanford Center of the Advancement of Women’s Leadership, and has recently joined the National Association of Female Executives NEXT Advisory board. She is one of the founding members of Gap Inc.’s Asian Business Resource Group, ASIA (Asians Supporting Inclusion & Awareness) and currently sits on the company’s Diversity & Inclusion Council.
Throughout her 19 years at Gap Inc., Maria has consistently integrated diversity and inclusion throughout her journey. In her previous role in Corporate Loss Prevention, Maria managed multiple global security programs while also being a founding member of the Women in Leadership for Loss Prevention, steered the Loss Prevention Diversity Council and was a member of the National Retail Federation’s Loss Prevention’s Women Caucus.
Maria has a degree in Paralegal Studies and Human Services. Her passion to help, develop and inspire others runs deep to her core professionally and personally. She is a devoted mother of four beautiful children and they are her pride and joy. Maria also enjoys a wide range of music and Zumba dancing.
