The great Sarah Blasko
has returned with a gorgeous new tune and a whooole bunch of
tour dates.

The second track to be lifted from the songstress’ forthcoming
album Depth Of Field is dubbed ‘A Shot’, and comes
with a very moist music video, directed by McLean Stephenson
(PVT, Brightness, Bad Dreems, Alex Cameron).

“When I first listened to this song I saw a moonless sea,”
Stephenson says.

“I told Sarah we were going to have to get in the water to
shoot it. In the middle of winter, at night, that was quite a
feat. We were in the water for a few hours, drinking whiskey to
stay warm, teeth chattering. But it was worth it. To me, the
video looks how the song sounds.”

Explaining the meaning behind the song, which features a
stunning trademark vocal performance, Blasko adds, “‘A Shot’ is
about the heartache that comes from feeling betrayed by someone
you never thought would betray you, at a time when you need
them most. The shock is physical in nature.”

To mark its release, she’s hitting the road on a national tour
this May, hitting up venues in Brisbane, Hobart, Sydney,
Adelaide, Perth, Bendigo and Melbourne.

Her album will be out by then as well — Depth Of Field
is due for release on Friday, 23rd February.
