This Father's Day, singer-songwriter John Legend has two adorable reasons to celebrate: daughter Luna, 2, and son Miles, 4-weeks-old, who he shares with wife and model Chrissy Teigen. But he's not expecting anyone to go all out for him.
In a new interview with TODAY, John revealed he'll purposely be spending Sunday just getting dinner with his wife. "I don't think Father's Day needs to be a big deal, but it's nice to feel appreciated a little. I do think Mother's Day is a bigger deal because—let's face it—being a mom is harder."
Kudos to John for recognizing that moms tend to have so much more on their plate than dads do. No wonder Chrissy, who just gave birth last month and is busy taking care of her new baby, swoons over him!
In the interview, John also shared a fun ritual he has with Luna: dancing at home. "She'll point to that room—where we have a record player— and say she wants to hear music and dance with Dada. We'll listen to Curtis Mayfield and Marvin Gaye—a bunch of old soul and jazz records—and dance together in our dining room."
As the daughter of a singer-songwriter, we're not surprised one bit that little Luna has got some moves!
Not only that, John Legend said his daughter has already inspired two of his songs—"Right By You," about his experiences as a new dad and what it meant for him to have a daughter, and "The Stinky Booty Song" about changing her diapers, as part of his partnership with Pampers.
The self-aware crooner clearly isn't afraid to talk about how much he adores his family, in his work or on his social media. Last month, he wrote this to his better happy for Mother's Day while she was still pregnant with baby Miles: "Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful wife Chrissy. I see so much of you in Luna and I love it so much. I can't wait to meet our little boy and to see you give him so much love and get so much love in return. I'm so happy to be on this journey with you." We're not crying, you're crying!
