British GQ's December 2018 Issue is All About Working Dads—and It's About Damn Time

What's life like for the Modern Man? According to British GQ's fashion feature for its December 2018 issue, it's working fatherhood, and finding a balance between family and career.

The key word here is balance.

In the fashion feature, top model Sean O'Pry is a sharply dressed businessman getting around New York City with his "kids," portrayed by child models. O'Pry shared some of the photos, taken by photographer Alexi Lubomirski, on Instagram earlier this week.

The result is a series of pictures that challenge the traditional notion of what it means to be a man with a career and children.

Finally, right?

In one pic, O'Pry is walking alongside his son and carrying his daughter in one arm.

In another, he appears to have left the office in the afternoon to pick up his son from school and spend time with him outside. And he's sneaking in lunch as well.

And in another, he has his baby strapped to him in a carrier, while talking to a man outside.

The photographer also shared pics from the working-dad-themed shoot to his Instagram.

Although the shoot didn't portray an actual father with his own kids, and true working parenthood is not as glamorous for most of us, we can totally get on board with the message the shoot is trying to send.

Sure, there are many guys out there who have careers and happen to have kids. But then there are those who try to treat family with equal importance as their career, and step up to the plate when it comes to caregiving.

It's clear GQ was trying to present the latter.

It's a refreshing reminder that times are changing, and it's not just moms who can or should juggle work and family.

Hopefully one day no one does a double take at a guy in a business suit wearing a baby carrier and dropping his infant off at daycare. But for now, we're happy to see this sweet tribute to working dads who already do those types of things.
